I'm trying to view a JApplet from a Netscape browser, and it keeps telling me "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/swing/JApplet". I've even imported the javax.swing.* package. I can run it just fine from the dos command line with the appletviewer, but Netscape and IE are giving me fits. Any ideas?

to use any java 2 class (like swing components and collections) you have to modify your < applet ...> tag. It has to include some object and embed tags, so that ns and ie understands that it should be using the java 2 plugin instead of the 1.1 classes.
If you download an app called HTMLconverter (or something like that) from java.sun.com, it will modify your page for you.
