Imagine an application which uses a JPopupMenu to open a JFileChooser. When the JFileChooser dialog comes up and you hit cancel button then your JPopupMenu leaves itself painted on the component beneath it. For some reason the repaint method for the component beneath it doesn't get fired and you have a nasty image left on your screen which looks very embarassing if your the programmer and your demonstrating your application. Is there any way around this annoying behaviour?
I've seen this in quite a few applications one is Jext.
Thanks,
Frank
