I'm doing an assignment on a chat room. I notice that it's very popular to mix texts and icons in text areas in many chat rooms. I can't figure out how to achieve that in Java. Of course I can use Swing. But as not so many browsers support Swing, I think AWT will be my only choice to design the GUI.
Now my question is, with AWT, how can I show texts and icons together in a text component. And what should I do if TextArea and TextField don't work?
Can anybody give me shome idea? Thank you.
