Hi
An applet I have runs much better under the Microsoft VM than the JVM. I am trying to convert it into an application so that it can be run that way as well. The problem I have is trying to convert the applet code I use to launch a web page. (Applet uses showDocument()). The fact the application will need to run using the Microsoft VM prevents me from being able to use any Java 2 objects that might help. The current way I am attempting to do it is to create a form with an HTMLControl object and use that to launch the web page. This does ugly things to the control of the application. So my plan was to close the form window after the web page had been launched.
This leads me to my two questions ..
1. I think I need to close the window by posting a win32 message to it. But how do I reference the WM_DESTROY constant in java?
2. Is there a better way to launch a web page from a java.awt.Frame using MS or java 1.1 classes than creating a com.ms.wfc.ui.Form with a com.ms.wfc.ui.HTMLControl?
Thanks to anyone who can help
Glyn

"gdub",
The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp . We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in with a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks.

No problem. This is me. Do you require me to resubmit the post?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
