Is there a statusbar in java swing as in internet Explorer browser.

Your post sounds kind of confusing... what do you mean by "statusbar in java swing as in internet Explorer browser"? The way I read it, you could be asking one of two things... One is "can I write to the status bar of IE with Swing". The status bar is part of the browser, and can only be affected by applets, and swing has JApplets, which inherit from applet, and thus can write to the status bar. On the other hand, if you mean, "can I make a status bar in my swing application outside of the browser", well, no, not exactly like the one in a browser, but why not just make a label in the BorderLayout.SOUTH area that you can send text to? This would accomplish the same thing.
