How do i reference from a new application's jpanel -> a jpanel on a jinternal frame. the object i am trying to display from the application (jpanel) is a 'menu' of buttons (the jpanel on the jinternalframe). sounds simple enuf, i must be overcomplicating the process. guessing that i need some code in the main method of the application ..... How would i do this in Visual Age's VCE? Or otherwise?
Thankx

Ok, let me see if I understand and if not, let me know. You have a JPanel that is the contentpane of your JFrame of the main window then you have an internalFrame with a JPanel as the contentpane that has some buttons on them. Are you trying to get the buttons on the internal frame to interact with your main JFrame or vice versa? I don't quite understand what you are needing to do. Maybe a better explination of your app?? Let me know. I love InternalFrames

You are correctly interpreting my msg: On the main window I have a JPanel that is the contentpane of a JFrame. And i have a menu class internalFrame with a JPanel as the contentpane that has some buttons on them. I am trying to invoke the menu from the main window.
Our goal is an mdi application. ....should the main window be using a JDesktopPane?
