Setting labels for the X & Y axis of a chart

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to set the multiple X- axis label & Y-axis labels in chart. I really need to know this. I would greatly appreciate if someone can help.By this I mean if there is a graph plotted with Time on the X axis & Frequency on the Y axis, how do I set the values for time eg; 1, 2, 3, 4 .. n & frequency eg; 1, 2, 3, .. n.
