Hi there.
I am new to Java and am running out of time to complete projects for my company. I need to display the company position structure using a JTree in an applet. The data would be retrived from numerous tables in a database but I would prefer if data were retrieved as and when needed, possibly 2 'node-levels' at a time. Secondly, I would think it best if data already received is cached to reduce calls to the database. Only basic detail would be displayed by each node but I also need to have pop-up's on a right-click diplaying further info.
Should someone have any ideas on the best approach or have had a similar task, please forward a reply asap (please keep in mind that I am new to this and would thus appreciate a reply-for-dummies!).
Thanks.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
