Hi every one ....being a 2008 mca fresher if there are two options before you --1)iit mtech seat
2)[company] job
which one would you suggest ? please convey your points basing on growth prospectus..my opinion is if i go for [company] then three years down the line i may be a team leader of my firm ..if i do my mtech then two years down the line again i should sit for campus (obiviously the list of companies would be better now )so please suggest me whether an experienced guy of [company] can compete with iit guy as per pay, growth and knowledge ..if i ask you to convey as per pay what would you say ..please dont hesitate to post your frank opinions ..it could be useful for others too..please

I would opt anyday for IIT Mtech than [company] job!
With an M-Tech the kind of jobs you would looking is way different from your current offer.. You can get into core tech companies etc etc and have a much better profile than what you would be if you take up current offer...

Come On

Go for IIT M. Tech.

If you do well in M. Tech., companies far superior than the one you're talking about, will pick you up from campus (without likely interview if you do stand in top 3).

You'll hardly have to worry about job security after M. Tech. and your starting profile will be far superior even in the first job.
(better than team lead in concerned company).

Better opt for IIT. It is a golden opportunity for one to get into IIT's.

As the others were mentioning, your profile will completely change once you graduate out from an IIT. Your resume stands different.

If you don't need to start earning right away, IIT would be a better option. Although doing Masters from an IIT is no way comparable to the B.Tech, still it has got some good value.

Couple of other things to ponder. What kind of organizations are you interested in working? If you are keen on becoming a team leader 3 years down the line in your career, may be you are more interested in joining the big service companies. In that case joining the IIT might not be of any use and you would be better off taking up that job now.

On the other hand, if you are loooking for a more technology oriented job where you have less chances of managing projects/people and more chances of doing good technical work , do go for the IIT.

Hope that helps..
