I think the poster was referring to Master of Technology.
Why don't just do both?
Get some certifications first if you want, then continue to do that MTech course. Once you have graduated, you can do a lot more certifications if you're still interested in them.
Currently I'm doing Master of Technology. I see that MTech seems to be more valuable than certifications, especially if you happen to sit in a good university. But like what I've already said. Do both if possible. That's my 2 cents.
