Hi,
I would like to ask you a question to start with. Are you into technology or the business aspect? You requirement that you'd like to be a Business Analyst pretty much says it all but it wouldn't be fair on my part to jump into conclusions right?
Well I have experience with one of the leading banks in the world. Oh by the way I am a Technical Lead with a Software Consultancy right now. Not that I am anywhere near a nerd but I'm someone who loves tech and the nuances that come along ;-) From my tenure with the earlier mentioned firm, I felt I was gettin phased out of the real world where things are happening (technically speaking, that is). Life was cool with em but I was tormented by the fact that there was no real growth career wise. It would take me, or anyone else for that matter, around 8 to 9 years to move up to a Lead position. I'm not so sure about the business side of things. I would always love to get my hands dirty (development or even code) and even on that I got the feeling that I was working on third party propriety tools that I felt would not add any value to my profile. But all said I do have to mention one last thing, having experience on the banking or financial domain help in more ways than one. In the end it is always your call. Good Luck!
Cheers,
Raj.
