Hi All,

I got a London-UK job offer through a consultant.
The consultancy is offering me 30k pounds/annum.I am a 25 yr bachelor with 4 yrs java/j2ee exp.
1)Is this correct pack for my exp.(please consider, since its through consultant he will pay us less only after taking his profits)
2)Is this package ok for survival and saving (saving min 700 pounds/month).
I ll be leading a simple life in a 1 BR flat(sharing if possible) and not too much partying.
3)or initially can I try this package to make me enter UK and try to search for a new company after a year or later.
4)Considering the present IT situation(job cuts..etc), can I take up this job now, or can i try after some time.

Please help me guys. I really need help from someone since I dont have international exposure(I am from India).

I would say it is an OK offer given the current state of the economy here in the UK/London. 30k/pa is enough to survive on in London assuming you're not partying too much and if you have a fairly cheap rental (those are your 2 biggest costs over here). Maybe you could sit down and write out a budget for yourself and see if you can make your target of 700/month?

Without knowing the rest of the situation I would say that yes you probably want to take that offer.

After 1 year you can always move onto other work in the UK and _very_ importantly it will mean you have London/UK experience on your CV (which many companies require, even if they don't outright say it).

Good luck in your career over here!

Financial conditions are bit weak in UK ... and current Q'ter is mostly depressing...
Ask your consultant to get first 6 month job grantee...This will give you some stability and time to understand market need..
30K is good salary considering current situation.
