Wrote an applet (not JApplet, couldn't get jsp plugin to work right) that uses a ButtonFactory class to build a list of buttons from a config file, and the corresponding URL link. Works perfectly with appletviewer.
However, using IE5.0, I get an NoSuchErrorMethod error on Vector, stating that add(Ljava/lang/Object)Z is not found.
Anyone have an idea as to why this might be happening?
Thanks
Jason

A big DUH for that one. I'm trying to read a file from an applet, which of course you can't do unless you bother with all the security stuff. I just decided to hard code the buttons and links. I HATE doing that, but I wanted to use an applet for my menu selections. Would have been nice to have dynamic link generation and still use the AWT functionality.
Live and learn.

Sure do! *coughs up a mouth full of sand*
What I actually have thought about doing is dynamically building the jsp page from a file by reading the file and building parameter tags for the applet. Then during initilization I get the array of parameters, and cycle through it building the buttons and the links.
Completely forgot you could pass parameters from the page to the applet, it's nice when you actually read the API.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
