I've got a JFrame which has a JFileChooser in it. At one point I need to open another JFrame for a user to enter some details before continuing their install process.
If I leave the original JFrame open then I cannot focus on the newly opened JFrame so I have to make the original hidden. This works OK and I can edit the newly opened JFrame and close it again which in turn unhides the original JFrame. When I bring it back an extra small frame appears in the top corner of the screen which lurks there until I end the program. Any suggestions as to how I avoid this?

It's not really a solution but have you tried using a modal JDialog instead of a second frame?

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
