i am running an applet on some machines from the IE browser. the applet utilizes the mouselistener. on a couple of the machines the mouselistener is not responding.
what should i look at in trying to resolve this issue?
thanks.

are you catching any of the events mousePressed, mouseTyped, mouseReleased (make some System.out.println to see when each event is triggered)? it can vary from one platform to another which event is generated.
in case of right mouse button clicks for popups try isPopupTrigger (in MouseEvent).

the mouseevents are being received. also parmeters are being passed to a function that is activated after an item has been selected from the tree.
from what i can tell, the problem is within the following statement(again it works fine on one machine and not so fine on the other):
getAppletContext().showDocument(new URL(urlName), target);
both machines are similar in that they are windowsNT os, ie6, java plug-in 1.3.1.
thanks.
