JTable entry problems

I have a JTable and am using a custom popup box to edit one of the fields, however I have to click the box using the mouse in order to get my pop up entry box displayed. How can I get my table to allow me to navigate round it using the keyboard as well? Secondly I have set up a Windows look and feel, which works fine but whenever I refresh the applet it goes to Metal, any ideas why? Any help from the experts out there would really, really be appreciated...
