hi all,
i am trying to set a checkbox to true or false
depending on what is in my property file.
i am calling:
rmiCheckBox.setSelected(true);
rmiCheckBox.setSelected(false);
but runtime i am getting errors on this call.

Exception occurred during event dispatching:
java.lang.StackOverflowError
at java.lang.ref.FinalReference.<init>(FinalReference.java:19)
at java.lang.ref.Finalizer.<init>(Finalizer.java:69)
at java.lang.ref.Finalizer.register(Finalizer.java:75)
at javax.swing.JToggleButton$ToggleButtonModel.setSelected(JToggleButton.java:239)
at javax.swing.AbstractButton.setSelected(AbstractButton.java:251)
at suncertify.gui.FBNS_Connection.setComponentState(mycode.java:159)

Currently i am using java version: java 1.3.1-b24
but when i switch to version: java 1.4.0-b92
everything is ok.
does anybody know what the problem might be (except advising to upgrade to 1.4)
thanks,
friso

pfff. found it. I've been looping around..
setselected(true)/false triggers an itemevent in 1.3. I attached an eventhandler to it that called a function that did the setselected...
