Hello everybody,

I have a main frame and there is another small frame wich acts as a small tool selecting window. and after selecting the tool from small frame when i take my mouse to main frame the small frmae is minimized or goes behind the main frame . how can my small frmae remain visible on main frame even after loosing the focus.
ALL IN AWT
example:
in dreamweaver or vc++(while debugging) we see a small tool selecting box open when we work on the main frame.
Please help me.

hi sunitha,
For ur requirement ,
For the small Frame instead of using a Frame, u go for a Dialog box, and for this Dialog box set the Big Frame as the parent, and set the Modal of the Dialog as Non Modal,
then u will be able to work on the Big Frame, even though the small Frame is visible.
I think this solves ur problem,
njoy coding

I don't think that's going to be possible to do in AWT without some major, major work... you are basically trying to implement the JDesktop/JInternalFrame MDI (Multiple Document Interface) using AWT... this relies on a lot of Swing classes behind the scenes to work... What are the reasons you can't use JDesktopPane in Swing?
