password checking

how do i check if the password key in is correct... and after clicking the submit button it will process the checking validation if correct display the frame else it will prompt the user to key in information again. :roll:

First, you can validate the password only after clicking the submit button or after pressing return.
Second, if you know somehow the correct password then you can try something like this.

  
JPasswordField passwordField = new JPasswordField();
String originalPassword = "..."; 
String enteredPassword = new String(passwordField.getPassword());
if (originalPassword.equals(enteredPassword )){
//start working
}
else{
//password or username have been wrong
}
