Any pointers on why and how one may consider building application that combines both jsp and swing? I have an application that has image rendering as well as lot of dynamic content to present.

JSP is for dynamically generating Web Content (HTML). JSP requires an HTTP Browser to function. As far as I know there is no good solution for combining JSP with SWING. It's really apples and oranges.
If your application has dynamic content I would recommend looking into XML, JDO, and the Properties API.
Could you give us a better explination as to what you are trying to achieve with your application and maybe we can suggest some good solutions for you.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
