I'm doing a DnD DropTargetListener that changes the cursor to drop allowed or not allowed as the mouse moves over a tree. I call setCursor but don't see the change until I release the mouse. This seems to be a known bug (feature?) since Java was a pup. I found a few older tips on the web that suggest setting the cursor on the glass pane, but these would keep my listener from getting mouse events. Are there any fresh ideas for solving this in JDK 1.4?
A good question is never answered. It is not a bolt to be tightened into place but a seed to be planted and to bear more seed toward the hope of greening the landscape of the idea. John Ciardi
