Why is it that all of the SWING tutorials that Sun provides, even http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/new2java/divelog/, do not use good Action and/or Command patterns for handling events?
I am in the process of trying to learn some of these patterns and finding examples in SWING tutorials is like, well, finding a needle in a hay stack, and I have yet to find the needle.
Anyone know the reason Sun chose not to use good patterns in their tutorials for GUI Application Event Handling?

Consider Paul's rocket mass heater.
