Congratulations to this weeks winners...
Jessica Sant
Stewart Griffin
Yoo-Jin Lee
raj madhuram

Please send me your snail mail addresses and we will have the publisher send out the book!
Note: one of the winners did not provide us with a working email address so that person unfortunately violated the contest rules and we had to take the prize away. Since Raj was first runner-up he gets the book. Congratulations!

wahoo!!! I'd like to thank my parents, my cats, and the wonderful folks at Manning for making this moment possible. I couldn't have done it without them. Thanks!!

Congrats to all the winners. Even though this particular book promotion was a huge disappointment in my opinion , I personally think they have a good book.
So how much does my disappointment override my need to buy a good SWING book??

O'Reilly has a new edition of their Swing book that need to be reviewed!

Well, I'll wait till someone posts it in MO before I bug Map about it. But I am already reviewing an LDAP book, so I guess I should get the one done first.

Gregg, sorry to hear that - I didn't get around to answering all the questions in that one thread. Thought I'd follow up with you directly on one your patterns question with a more relevant link:
http://www.patterndepot.com/put/8/JavaPatterns.htm
(Download the entire book as a zipped PDF file)
This appears to be an entire book about patterns in Java using Swing to demonstrate 23 examples. I've only skimmed the book so can't say much for its actual usefulness, but on the surface it appears to be what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Matt, I guess Greg's complaint is that there were a lot of threads opened with questions during the week that never got responded to.

Matt, thanks for the link!! And Paul was on the right track. I wasn't speaking specifically of my posts, but the week and all it's posts as a whole during the book promotion. I remember the last ANT promotion we had and man, were those Authors on top of things. They were answering posts left and right and the way they did it, they said, here is some info and this is how it relates in our book. They did an awesome job. I noticed you seemed to be on your own. What happened to your co-author?

The other author and I are deeply involved in our startup (www.recruitforce.com) which we've been working on since early last year. We haven't had the bandwidth to step away and so have had to split up marketing/promotion activities such as this. (the 2nd edition was actually finished in Feb last year but, for whatever reasons publishers have, it was delayed until this year). If we ever do this again I'll make sure to schedule it for a time when we can hit all the threads. Thanks for the feedback...

Thanks for the link - I actually had the PDF but didn't remember that. Anyway, I trust that Matt & Pavel are now going to start that book about Swing UI patterns
And congrats to all winners!

I haven't heard from Stewart Griffin, one of the winners. If anyone is a friend of his, please let him know he won and tell him to send me an email.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
