I'd use the Timer class in javax.swing for scheduling the animation. As for the "Will alert display even if application is mininized ?" part, that's specific to your application... You'll have to describe what your application does with "alerts"... [ May 27, 2003: Message edited by: Nathan Pruett ]

Thanx Nathan, About my application , It is a cyber cafe application I want to show alert for every 1 hr.OR if user selects like give me alert after 1.30 hr.
Yeah, the alert runs whether or not the frame is minimized, and if part of the alert response is to pop up a dialog or something, the dialog should still show up. Or you could just test the current state of the frame and un-minimize it when a new alert was launched.
