I want to use the Motif L&F in my Java application, but I want the color scheme to be chosen as per the users installed Color theme(using the CDE Style Manager).
Having a default bluish grey UI does not blend well with my 'Desert' or 'Delphinium' color theme... how can I achieve this in my java app with minimal code?
Thanks

guys, c'mon! is this question too easy to answer so its not catching anybody's attention ?
Or is it too lame to have a GUI that goes with your installed color theme ?
Or is swing too flexible to provide a Motif L&F without any high level support for Color schemes?
some day soon, i'll move to SWT i guess...

No... the problem (I would guess...) is that no one here knows how to get the currently installed color theme from CDE. The other problem is that (unless this info gets saved off in a file somewhere) you are going to have to write some C/C++ code for CDE to provide this information through JNI to a Java program. Then you're going to have to extend the Motif look and feel to support the new color integration. I could tell you how to do the last two, but I have no idea how you can get the current color scheme set in CDE.
