I need to catch when a user moves the divider in a jSplitPane and save the value. I've tried adding a mouseMotionListener, but instead of catching mouse drags for the splitPane, I'm getting events for a JLable inside a panel inside the SplitPane. What am I doing wrong?

I figured it out. Use a PropertyChangeListener instead of a mouse listener.
