Hi. I have an application that is in a JFrame.
This JFrame has a vertical split pane on it. On the top half of the
split pane, is an order search.
On the bottom half will be an order inquiry displaying additional
information about an order the user may click on from the order search.
My problem is, I can't really decide what the best way is to display the data to the user on the bottom half of the split pane.
There is a lot of stuff we are going to show them. There are 45 different
fields that I need to display. Right now I have the data sorted out into
4 different panels of information (depending on what it relates to). I am displaying the data with JLabels. It shows the name of the field, and the label that displays the data has a white background.
The problem is, this is not really easy to read. If your only looking for one thing, its hard to pick out what you want with all the labels.
Does anyone have any suggestions on something other than labels to display the data?
One thing to keep in mind, is I do need to keep the data separated into 4 different categories. (Service,Operations,Shipping,Accounting).
Thanks for any help!

Maybe use a JTabbedPane in the bottom half of the split pane? Might be a good choice to break up the display into the categories you have mentioned.
