Hi,
I am facing this problem, where i am allowing clients to download an appletcode (class and archive) with the help of a JSP. I am using Tomcat, as the web container for the JSP.
Now, when the client downloads the applet code while accessing an the JSP,the client progeams needs to connect to a separate class (server kind)
running in the same machine as that off the webcontainer.
If I use InetAdress.getLocalHost().getHostName(), Each of the client hostnames logged from different machine using the webcontainer , comes as
LocalHost.
Is this a problem, with any setting or any other coding problem.
cheers,
Sajit

The Java Guru website has two answers in their FAQ depending on if you are using an untrusted applet, or a trusted applet.
