Hiya,
I am new to Java and am currently invloved in taking our existing database system to a java front end with jdbc. Our application is 100% GUI and that is how we intend to keep it.
We use various swing components but we are planning to use the same components over and over in our application. So what we were thinking was for example, take the Jtext component, create our version of Jtext, MyJText which has added functionality like AutoComplete, maybe spell check and than use that instead of the java swing component in our application.
What are the cons of doing that?
What is the best way to start?
Is it better to extend the JText class?
Any suggestion will be helpful.
Shafiq
