abt fullScreen repainting of Images in java

hi......
my javaGame aplt is just downloading an img and sound file
and simaltaneosly it showing the images and playing related action sounds.It gives me proper output when this GameAplt's width & height is say 200 & 200. But i want to play my GameAplt on fullScreen(FS) ie 800*600 pixels, so for that i did the needful. And now u can see my GameAplt on fullScreen.but in this stage i facing a problem of synchroniztion between images and related sound.
So can u tell me the way so i do my repainting of images are fast on the fullScreen based on which my synchronization problem should be eleminate.
Addtionally my Q -> Is the update and repaint methods are depending on the system OR any relation on the systems resources.
For info i just say that i used double buffering of images in my code.
