JTextField in JList

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Say we put JTextField in a JPanel implement ListRenderer and Set JList to rubberStamp model element with out new ListCellRenderer; brillant - but how do we get the JTextField to recieve focus from JList .i.e how to make JTextField work as a JList element?

Can you give an indication of whether you are interested in solving a visual problem, or a data model problem?

(1) Do you only want the UI to show the item as selected (because you're not saying that the JList has in any way failed to propagate it as 'selected' when it has been selected). The visual stuff would be handled in the (bypassed) renderer

or

(2) Are you somehow losing the JTextField attributes in the data model?
