change in font size from one VM to another  RSS feed

Hi
I have developed an applet. The fonts in label, button etc varys when run in different VM like MVM(Microsoft) and JVM(Java). So could u suggest a way to over come this. We tried setting fonts etc.

Check out this note on the front page of the javax.swing package API docs:

Package javax.swing
Provides a set of "lightweight" (all-Java language) components that, to the maximum degree possible, work the same on all platforms.


So basically -- each platform (each JVM) may implement the components differently, so there's no guarantee a button will be the same size/shape on Microsoft's JVM vs Sun's JVM. granted that doesn't help solve the problem... but I don't know how to solve it...

I'm going to move this to the SWING forum, where they might be able to help out a bit more.
