hi there, i'm experiencing some problems with the color of my comboboxes.

as the program starts, the fields are enabled, but not editable.
as soon as the db connection is granted, the fields go editable and therefore change their color to white.

the problem is, that most users check the datafields in the non editable mode and the comboboxes are really bad to read, with grey background and an opaque font.

i tried to set an enabled color, set opaque to false or to change the enabled font color. no success so far. not in jdk 1.3.1_08 nor in the brand new one.

what can i do?

here the part of the code.

I thought when the combo box was not enabled, you couldn't select anything?

Could you break the ? :, style of if testing out? I use it myself, but I've never done it nested and I'm pretty confused as to how to evaluate that!
