For example they talk about GUI frameworks and GUI toolkits. Is there a difference between these two? Can someone tell me what it is?

Thanks allready in beforehand..

More or less off the topic btw. but I'm sure you can live with it if I can!

Oh, and the question origins from the fact that I'm writing a paper on GUI frameworks and don't want to be talking bout stuff that ain't there. Furthermore, the paper will be a survey / a comparison between existing frameworks such as Swing, wxWidgets, MFC, some smalltalk framework etc. (given that they all are "frameworks" or the term "toolkit" has the same meaning) so if you think there's some framework I absolutely oughta include in the paper I'd love to hear it!

Thanks again all..

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
