Awt components are heavy weight and swing components are light weight
Awt components depends on local windowing while swing component does not
that's the reason

But JApplet exteds java.applet.Applet and java.applet.Applet extends java.awt.Panel
?

Each Project Swing applet or application needs at least one heavyweight container component (a JFrame, JWindow, JApplet, or JDialog).
