Hai Friends,

I like to develop a schema browser. ie A JTree which represents the various schemas of a database as its nodes.

The connection to the database is estabilished dynamically and so the nodes are added to the tree dynamically by accessing the system tables.

Anyone have some idea, some paths which surely be a light to my way.

Ram Mohan.

Hi,

Your idea is very much possible.

You will need to work out how to create a tree model that describes your database information. You should start with the sun on how to use trees:

http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/tree.html

It's not as hard as it first seems.

Cheers, Jared.

And the Java XML tutorial (those three words would be the choice for an Internet search) has examples of how to convert an XML document to a JTree; look in the "DOM" section.
