I went through some online resources and found them hard to comprehend.
Why should it signify the death of browsers? (Exagerrated)
I need some explanation at the Entry Level.

A rich client, in broad terms, requires one to install software on the client computer. This is opposed to a "thin" client, which has a very minimal install (if any). It will usually take advantage of software that is already on clients, such as a web browser.
Both methods of distribution have appropriate uses and neither will bring about the end of the other.
