is now days developers are using for developing swing applications, I have used visual cafe when java1.1 version is in market.

If you're looking for a GUI building, I would highly suggest Netbeans 5.0. They Matisse GUI building tool is quite impressive.
If you're just looking for a Java IDE, I would suggest either
netbeans
,
eclipse
, or ItelliJ from
Jetbrains
.
