Atlassian announced "Codegeist," their first annual plug-in competition starting today (19 January!). Loads of prizes are available including a $5,000 first prize, licenses to great apps from JetBrains, Cenqua, and YourKit, subscriptions to MindReef and Sourcebeat, and Codegeist t-shirts. Individuals or teams of up to three people can develop Java-based plug-ins for either Atlassian JIRA or Confluence. The coolest, most useful, most elegant plug-ins will win; entries will be judged by the votes of the Atlassian Development team. For more information, visit
