hello ranchers!

i have no experience using swing and i am having a hard time trying to do a little app, hope you guys can help me.

i am developing a swing app that on the main window has a textarea that works like a log of some sorts, i mean every single user action is recorded in this log for example opening a child window, executing a process, leaving the child window, starting and closing the app etc....i am having a hard time visualizing this since i am very new to swing, i reckon i must start by implementing a "listener" of some sort, but i havent the slightest idea as to how i would do so, hope any of the ranch's gurus can point me in the right direction here.

thank you!
