I tried to use a mouse event to draw on a panel.. Like a pencil or a ruler.. But when the mouse is moved and paint methods are called over and over again the events turn out to trigger reeeally slow.. And it sucks..

I've seen drag operations like drawing a box on java software like etbeans.. The box box is drawn when the mouse is dragged and it's quite fast.. Have you guys got any tips on how to do it.. Repainting the graphics object just takes tooo much time.. And in my case of a pencil i have to draw pixel by pixel and it takes even more time.. Pleeease help..
