Thanks in advance for any assistance. I am seeking help on finding which methods will be useful in returning results in the JTextArea of my calculator. I am not even sure if JTextArea is the best to use, so I am open to much input. Thanks again.

If you're trying to mimic a normal calculator, I think a JTextField would be more appropriate, since that has only a single line of text. Its setText method would be the one to alter its contents.
