Hello,

I need to build a small software (an educational commercial) which needs a web browser window integrated in it (capable of showing html, some css, photo at least).

I had an old version of the software built in Delphi (was using IE through OLE) but I can not return to Delphi anymore so I am going to try and build it using swing java.

Does anyone know a browser window component under java (usable for commercial software)?

Thank you

Java has a simple built-in browsing component; it's demonstrated here. It only supports HTML 3.2, though - no JavaScript and no CSS.

ICEbrowser is a commercial HTML component.

Hi Siamak,

There isn't a Swing component capable of displaying complex HTML with CSS. The best Swing can do is some basic capabilities built into the JEditorPane (HTML 3.2 support only). Check out this link for a list of third-party component suites.

Good luck!

Just to include in the record (in case someone else needs this):

1- I found another one which integrates "internet explorer" into java swing. (It is very affordable too)

2- The ICEbrowser is a complete java rendering solution but is very very expensive (2500 USD quoted on website).

3- There is a Cobra Html and Lobobrowser project (hosted on sourceforge) which is open source but is GPL licensed and cannot be used commercially.
