Hi. I'm trying to figure out a good way to test my UI. Specifically, I want to be able to do things like "5 seconds after I press this button, check that this panel turned black". Can anyone suggest a tool for doing such types of tests? My goal is to write as little code as possible because the people performing these tests may just be users and not necessarily developers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Let me clarify right at the beginning that I am not a tester but a Swing developer. In our company we rely heavily on JUnit testing. We also have written inhouse tools using the Robot class. Frankly speaking I dont think these approaches will cover your requirements successfully or adequately.
You might want to check out here and also here. There are some links to open source projects as well as commercial ones.
There is also another tool called Quick Test Pro (if I am not mistaken) which I had heard about from one of my friends.
Sorry this is all second hand information.
Hope it helps. Best of luck.
