First of all congratulations on the book.

I have been working on an application and have started making it 'filthy rich'. There are so many effects that can be applied, and I was wondering what you would think is the most underused/overused effect on application that you see or work with, and how it detracts or adds to the overall user experience?

Also I use the ULC technology a lot at work, what are your views on this, I have enjoyed using it thus far?

I can't think of any overused effect in particular. It really depends on each application. A good example of overuse is the Substance look and feel with the spring effect activated. It is activated on EVERY SINGLE BUTTON in the application and it's very very very annoying.

I've never used ULC so I cannot comment on that.

*Every* animation effect in Substance can be configured to be enabled / disabled for a specific control, component or control class. So you can enable the spring effects only on the specific buttons of your choice.

Not to mention the fact that the spring animation effect (like many others) are disabled by default, so what's the point?

I said it's annoying when it's enabled.
