I prefer java however i got feedback from my seniors that java ui is not as fast as C or C++ so better make it in C++.

Please guide me which language is better for a project that involves lot of GUI.

Is eclipse GUI based on swing, if not than wat they have used.. Please assist.

To answer you original question you will probably want to consider a few more factors.
Do you have a ready pool of C++ developers?
How quickly does this need to be built?
Is it an enterprise type of application that will need to be updated and modified often and quickly as business needs change?
Will it need to run on multiple platforms (Mac, Linux, etc..)?

I am from java team, but we do have other team for C++. If we can do it much better in C++ than we will leave it for C++ team.

Time Esimation is not closed, however it seems it wont be a problem.

Its not an enterprise type of application. There would be moderate changes in the application in maintainace course.

Thanks for prompt guidance .
