hi,

can any one tell me how to distinguish whether the text entered in a editable combo box is edited one or selected one from the list.

The getSelectedIndex() method returns -1 if the user typed in something which is not in the list, but it won't tell you if the user typed in something which is in the list. Perhaps it's close enough for your needs?
