That's what the javax.swing.JProgressBar class does.

What do you mean by "progress monitor"? A progress bar is implemented by JProgressBar.

Swing provides three classes to help you use progress bars:
1.JProgressBar
2.ProgressMonitor
3.ProgressMonitorInputStream

As mentioned in: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/progress.html

Let me know.

Seema

It looks as if ProgressMonitor creates its own dialog (if necessary). So if you already have a dialog, that's probably not what you want. In that case, use JProgressBar.
