Hi everyone

I am creating a program for both Windows XP and Vista. I just got my hands on a new laptop with Vista and a wide screen display. Hence the problem with regards to gradient painting. I have programmed some gradient paint for the toolbar background. It is composed of very thin alternating lines running diagonally. The lines are very fine and it creates a subtle texture. When viewed on my wide screen display however, the lines are much thicker and spaced further apart. It upsets the balance achieved between the look of my icons and the background. Curiously though after running the programm for a while, the lines become thinner and look exactly like they do on the regular width screen. It is very unpredictable and never change to that with any particular thing being performed in the program.

Any feedback would be appreciated. thanks.

Don't know, I am afraid. I think we shall need more information. I also think you will be more likely to get an answer if I transfer you to the Swing forum . . .

How are you creating your gradient paint? Can you post the relevant code?
