I have been tasked by my company to come up with a list of standards for our web applications (list boxes should have a max of 10 elements, all buttons should be displayed on the lower left corner of the screen, etc). I have not been able to find any best practices docs (java or otherwise).

Does anyone know of any such resource ?

Hi Tim,

Welcome to JavaRanch!

As they say, the best thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from! Google "user interface standards" and you'll find that there is no shortage of formal documents describing someone's vision of the perfect GUI.
